Karla has spent her life surrounded by dogs, spending time to better understand them and win their trust. She is an experienced veterinary assistant and has twenty five years of extensive knowledge in dog training and canine behavior. Her non-invasive and postive training methods have helped hundreds of people across the country. She has also spent the last few years studying and incorporating Animal Communication and Energy Work to assist in her quest of understanding all creatures, and to help create success for her clients and their companions. Sue Olmos - Horse and Canine Muscle Therapy Sue received her certification in Triggerpoint Myotherapy (Myofascial Release) in 1995 through Equi-Myo in CT. This program focused on equine and canine therapy, and was a full-time residency covering 350 hours of anatomy, physiology, Triggerpoint techniques, precipitating factors, gait analysis, etc., as well as practical application. Her practice, Midstates Myotherapy, Inc. is now entering it's tenth year, and she has incorporated massage, Reiki, Healing Touch, and Therapeutic Essential Oils into her sessions with animals. Sue has worked with Harper College in Palatine, IL, to bring their certification program in canine muscle therapy to reality. Dawn Wrobel - Hedgehog and Guinea Pig Care Dawn has been working with small animals her entire life, but is best known for her work with hedgehogs. She is author of the book, "The Happy, Healthy Hedgehog", and has trained veterinarians and veterinary technicians on hedgehog handling and care. Her articles on hedgehogs, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and other small pets have appeared in numerous trade and consumer publications. Joan has been a practicing feline behavior consultant for over seven years, and has helped hundreds of people from across the country with common and uncommon cat behavior issues. She is an experienced feline veterinary assistant, animal communicator, Bach Flower Essence practitioner, and is behavioral consultant for a local Chicago no-kill cat shelter. Joan educates people on how the instinctive needs of their feline companions who live in a human world can affect cat behavior and wellbeing. She is able to craft strategies for how to deal with cat behavior issues of all kinds. Michelle established The Polite Parrot as an avian behavior consultant in 1996, and has twenty-one years of hands-on experience with parrots. She worked for eight years as a veterinary assistance and veterinary office manager for an exotic vet, and worked for fifteen years in affiliation with Narnia Pet Behavior in Naperville, IL. Her experience has been hands-on work with unwanted, abused, and behaviorally challenged birds. Michelle's philosophy is to use positive reinforcement, along with anticipation and redirection of unwanted behaviors.
